Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh was a Nigerian physician whose courage and dedication saved countless lives during the 2014 Ebola outbreak in Nigeria. A highly skilled endocrinologist, Dr. Adadevoh is remembered for her unwavering commitment to public health and her role in preventing the spread of the deadly virus in Nigeria.

In July 2014, Dr. Adadevoh identified and contained Nigeria's first Ebola case, a Liberian American who sought medical treatment at her hospital. Despite immense pressure to release the patient, Dr. Adadevoh stood firm, enforcing a quarantine that prevented the virus from spreading beyond Lagos. Her courage and adherence to medical ethics came at a great personal cost, as she contracted the virus in the line of duty and tragically passed away on August 19, 2014.
